You still have something to do with that thing because it’s a part of your life. It’s a reminder of what you have to do, and it’s also a reminder of what you’ve already done. The thing is, the thing is also a part of your identity. It’s who you are, and it’s who you want to be. It’s your past, present, and future all rolled into one. So when you see that thing, don’t just see the mess. See the person who created it.

1) The clutter bug has bitten. Sometimes it seems like the only time things get cleaned up is when there’s some external force involved (ie: guests). Stop the cycle by identifying the top three items in your home that cause the most stress and make sure they’re in an easy-to-reach spot so you’ll actually use them on a regular basis.
2) Dirty clothes have piled up everywhere. No one likes doing laundry, but if your dirty clothes have started taking over other spaces in your home, clean out your drawers or closets by giving away or donating things you no longer wear or need. Consider investing in an organizer for those pesky socks and underwear so they stay neatly tucked away too!
3) There’s no place for it, but you can’t let go
Do you ever find yourself holding onto something even though you have no use for it and no place to put it? If so, you’re not alone. A lot of us do this, and it often leads to a cluttered home. There are a few common reasons why we do it, so if you can identify the cause, you may be able to break the habit.
For example, we might keep things because they have sentimental value or because we think they’ll come in handy someday. Or maybe there’s just an idea that it’s been around forever, so you should hold on to it in case someone else needs it one day.
The most important thing is to try and figure out what your motivation is for keeping stuff around when you don’t need it or have room for it in your life. Once you know what causes your clutter habits, figuring out how to change them will be easier!

Poor organization: If you have piles of clothing on your bed, stacks of books on your coffee table, and dishes piled high in your sink then you may be suffering from poor organization. Hanging up clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer and putting dishes back where they belong can make a huge difference!
